Small Sculptures
Making small sculptures for me is primarily about composition in space, my rapport with the materials that make up that composition — and treatment of the surface must fit the body. This applies to plaster gauze or wood constructions that are painted, clay that is glazed (or not), and wood that is sanded & finished.
Small sculptures for me often start from a point of frustration — because I want to work large — but that’s not always possible. Small sculptures are experiments and lessons for me. They are objects, I want to make experiences.
